Accelagen is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill multiple full-time Research Scientist or Research Associate positions. Extensive experience with mammalian expression and protein purifications are required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks in all aspects of recombinant protein expression and purification.
- Purify proteins using AKTA systems and characterize proteins using biochemical techniques.
- Perform cell culture work and transient transfection.
- Carry out large scale protein expression in bacteria, insect and mammalian cells.
- General laboratory duties including dish washing, buffer preparation, shipping and receiving, keeping inventory and ordering of lab supplies.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D, MS, or BS in Life Science field with 2+ years' laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience in recombinant protein expression, protein purification, and protein characterization.
- Strong fundamental understanding of principles of recombinant protein expression and purification.
- Extensive experience with AKTA systems, HPLC, or similar automated systems.
- Extensive experience in expression and purification of membrane proteins such as GPCR and ion-channel.
- Detail oriented with excellent time management skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a research team.
